Safety First in the age of Covid-19 - Forward Face Covering - Sara Louise Petty / by Sara Louise Petty

2020 has been quite a surreal ride. When Fashion Designers put together their collections for Fall 2020, who would of thought to include a face covering as a coveted accessory?

Well, fast forward to the weird world we are currently living in. A world where we wash our hands whilst singing Happy Birthday umpteen times a day, a world where we stand 6ft apart on grocery lines and have socially distant dinners with friends outside. Life is very different and we all hang on to the hope that one day life will have normalcy. The ‘new normal’ is tolerable but for how long?

It’s tolerable more so for adults, I feel for the kids more than anything. A childhood should be carefree without worry; this is not the childhood I hoped my kids would have.

Whilst Covid-19 is still spreading, and with no real treatment or vaccine on the horizon - we have learned to adapt. Face coverings are not optional. They are essential to preventing the spread of the Covid-19. They do have some plusses. We no longer have to worry if we have spinach in our teeth after lunch. We no longer need to apply lipstick. (The make up industry may take a hit)

This great article was in Refinery 29 and I loved the photography.

I picked out a few other fun face masks that can make wearing a mask feel chic!
